Jimmy Ray Adkins, Sr. age 70 of Owingsville passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at his home after a long illness. He was born July 13, 1947 in Louisa, Ky to the late George and Minerva Kelly Adkins. He was a retired welder for Leggett & Platt, Winchester, Ky.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Brenda Damron Adkins; one son Jimmy Ray (Tina) Adkins, Jr. of Owingsville; three daughters Martha (Yogi) Damron, Tammy (Tracey) Adkins of Morehead, and Laura Smith of Owingsville. He had eight grandchildren that will miss him very much; Ceria (Chase) Thacker, Jarrod (Amber) Hunt, Hayden (Chelsea) Hunt, Amanda (Clay) Patrick, Jacob Hunt, Cody Smith, Ashley Adkins, and Matthew Adkins; 7 great grandchildren; a special friend and caregiver Donna Stull also survives.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a sister; Martha June Adkins and three brothers; Wayne Adkins, Johnny Adkins and Timmy Adkins all of Louisa, Ky
Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday December 13, 2017 at the Richardson Funeral Home of Owingsville, Ky with Reverend Ryan Utterback officiating the service. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. and the funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Jimmy will be buried in the Adkins Family Cemetery in Peasticks.
