A Tradition of Excellence

At the Richardson Funeral Home we don’t consider our families customers, we consider them friends. We understand the painful emotions our families deal with when losing a family member because we have also experienced those emotions. So it is our sincere goal to assist our friends in this time of great need in their lives. We want to make this time of transition and adjustment as smooth as possible and provide our friends with the same kind of care and attention as we would want for ourselves. We pride ourselves on the fact that we are a family owned and operated funeral home and we think this helps us to provide considerate and compassionate services to our families. We have created this website to further help our families to familiarize themselves with our funeral home, staff and the services that we offer. We also wanted to provide a service for friends and family to view obituaries and sign our guest for the deceased person’s family online.

Our History

It’s hard to say where and when we began. It originally began in the 1950’s with Randolph Richardson in another building on Main Street known as Richardson, Dicken and Dotson Funeral Home, then later moving to Slate Avenue in Owingsville where it became Richardson Funeral Home. Randolph was a licensed funeral director and embalmer at that location for many years until he sold out to a partner in the early 1980’s. Randolph started the Richardson Corporation about the same time and traveled the country throughout the 1980’s moving cemeteries to make room for airports and highways.
