I said farewell to my brother, Jeff Otis today . . . A special man and friend to me. We all have different friends at different time and places in life, but there are a select few friendships in life that transcend time and aren't based on performance . . . That sums up my relationship with my dear brother Jeffrey "Bear" Otis. Time seemed to just happen, and before I knew it, I wouldn't have seen him for months and or years . . . But when you're taking about a friendship that transcends time, well . . . As I thought of Jeff, or his name was mentioned as I would see or meet a mutual friend , or a quick sight of him or a brief visit as we crossed paths, always brought and will continue to bring a reminder of a deep and genuine love for a good, "thick and thin" friend. A man I deeply love and respect, because He was authentic. And his grace toward our friendship when my friendly performance was terrible, was just who Jeff was and why I loved him. The last time I saw him, I got the honor of praying for my brother for healing. Today he is healed and in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My soul rejoices but my flesh most certainly is grieving the loss of my dear brother. I love you Jeff Otis, and thank you for your friendship . . .

Jeff has helped me and my husband out with loans. We had a house fire and lost everything and he helped us to buy another place withing a few days. Very gentle and with a great big heart. So sorry to here of his passing. Prayers for all. God Bless.

What a perfect picture of Jeff!
I first knew Jeff and Glenda only as being good friends of my daughter, Kerry, and the rest of their gang growing up together. It was easy to see why both were loved by all.
One memory that I cherish, is of how the warmth and innate caring of this man's personality was demonstrated to me a few days after the death of my Ed. Jeff called me here in Northern Kentucky one afternoon and spoke for a very long time. A typical visit from Jeff Otis although we hadn't seen each other for many years.
We shared insights, experiences, understanding, and stories from both funny and troublesome times. Some hilarious. A visitor who was here could not imagine how I could be laughing so hard at this time. Exactly what I needed that day. Exactly what I shall always remember as being the "real" Jeff.
Glenda and all: You are an amazing family and much loved and appreciated by your friends and neighbors.
I am so very sorry. Holding you in my thoughts and prayers.

I will never forget the private talks we have had ,he would always say I Love You Sis !!!!And I know in my Heart He meant every word .We are going to miss him .He would always ask if I needed anything ,knowing that he was sick he never dwell on that but would talk about you Glenda and sorry he was that at times he couldn't help but he would say she needs to get off her feet. I will genuinely miss Jeff "Bear" Otis. We had many conversations together and I watched him evolve spiritually to where he had a genuine relationship with the Lord and I feel certain that Heaven is his home today. In some regards, Jeff had his struggles in life and yet he was able to face them and accept them. He would remind us that if we had good health we had one of the most valuable things that could ever be had in this world. Jeff was loved by many people, he loved to be with people and his life was a blessing. His love for Glenda, for Jeffery and Lauren, and for Addilyn was evident in his actions and his conversation. I will always remember him being dismissed from the hospital to go and be with the family when Addie was being born. If being missed is a measure of his life then his life was a treasure.
