I had the honor of meeting Doc this past Spring, when Nancy Wills, who is taking care of my Mom, introduced us. We formed an immediate friendship. He was devoted to Nancy, and cares very much for my mother. Doc was an intelligent, kind and thoughtful man. He was a spiritual leader of his Micmak tribe. I learned a lot from him about his life as a Native American, and I wish I had more time with him. I cherish him for bringing joy to many, particularly my mother. I feel his loss deeply and pray for comfort for those who loved him. I pray for Nancy and for her grandson, Tommy. My heart is with all who miss him. May his spirit of love abide with us always.

My thoughts and prayers and those of the Owingsville First Church of God are with the friends and loved ones of Doc Lightfoot Bratt. May the comfort and peace of Christ be real in your lives during this time. I may be mistaken, but I believe I met Doc at a benefit here at the church and we had an interesting and enjoyable conversation.
