Virginia Garner Hunt

Virginia Garner Hunt, 93, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016.  She was born August 23, 1923, to the late Willie & Hattie May Garner.  She obtained her degree from Morehead State University while working at Bluegrass Industries and raising her family.  She became an elementary school teacher and taught in Montgomery County and Bath County where she retired from Bath County School System after 32 years.  She was a devoted wife, mother and a Christian woman.  She was a founding member of Grace Gospel Tabernacle in Owingsville, Kentucky.  She enjoyed woodworking, sewing, travel and reading her Bible.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elgin Hunt, and her son Carroll Dean Hunt.

She is survived by her son Billy Thomas Hunt (Connie) of Covington, Georgia; daughter-in-law Brenda Hunt of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; grandchildren Christopher Hunt of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; Deanna Burke of Conyers, Georgia; John Hunt (Summer) of Covington, Georgia; Stephen Childress of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; and great grandchildren Dalton Hunt of Carlisle, Kentucky; Barrett Hunt and Angelena Burke of Conyers, Georgia.

Friends may call from 12-2 p.m. Tuesday, December 6th at Richardson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 2 p.m. on Tuesday with the Reverend Lowell Rice officiating, and pallbearers Christopher Hunt, John Hunt, Dalton Hunt, Stephen Childress, Nelson Garner, and Eddie Goodpaster. A graveside service will be held following the funeral service at Owingsville Cemetery.
