Mark Rutherford Obituary

Mark Ray Rutherford, age 64, passed away on February 13 in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born on October 8, 1959 in Georgetown, Ohio to the late Troy Edward Rutherford and Betty Sue Leach. Mark loved the Civil War era. He was very interested in learning all about history. He worked as a painter for many years and enjoyed playing chess. Mark loved his children and his family. He was a kind, giving man that was always willing to help others when he could. His family will miss him deeply but find peace in knowing he is no longer hurting. May they cherish the good memories they have of him. 

He is survived by one daughter, Leslie Rutherford;  three sons, Cody, Nathan and Matthew Grigson; one brother, David Rutherford and his wife, Melody; one sister, Ginger Carpenter and her husband, Wesley; three grandchildren, Jonas Jefferson, Bella Wilhoit and Autumn Dunavant.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy Edward Rutherford and Betty Leach Cox.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Sharpsburg with Brother Jeremiah Johnson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that donations be made to the Catholic Action Center or Hope Center. They both are located in Lexington, KY.
