Margaret Miller Obituary

Margaret Ann Miller, age 77 of Owingsville, passed away on Wednesday, February 7 at her residence. She was born on February 2, 1947 in Haldeman, Kentucky to the late Joe Burton Hodge and Margaret Moore Hodge. 

Margaret worked at Seal Master in Rowan County for 15 years. She was a member of the board for Christian Social Services and Gateway for 24 years. Margaret attended the Morning Star Baptist Church and enjoyed her church family. She was an avid UK basketball fan and looked forward to every game. If you knew Margaret Ann, you know how she loved to talk and what a wonderful story teller she was. She enjoyed socializing with everyone and making people laugh. Margaret loved her community and helping others. She had a way of brightening the day for others with her contagious laugh. Margaret Ann was a kind, caring lady that will be missed by her family, friends and community. 

She is survived by her two daughters, Leanna Cunningham and her husband, Eugene of Riverview, Florida; Sophia Simmons and her husband, Evans of Hamden, Connecticut; her brother, William Ewing "Tommy" Hodge; three grandchildren, Terrance Cunningham, Marissa Cunningham and Kameren Simmons; two sisters in law, Delores Hodge and Mabel Hodge; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Joseph, Charles Russell, L.P., George Ray, Robert Garrett, Jim, and Carl Hodge; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Hodge, Betty Cummins and Carolyn Hodge.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 11 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel with Reverend Derrick King officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Hodge Family Cemetery. 

Repass will be held at the Owingsville Methodist Church Fellowship Hall following the service until 6:00 p.m. The fellowship hall is located at 75 West Main Street Owingsville, Kentucky. 

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Christian Social Service Center, P.O. Box 1111 Owingsville, KY 40360 in memory of Margaret Ann Miller.
