January 12, 1934 ~ January 24, 2024 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Charles Hart Obituary

Charles A. Hart, age 90 of Owingsville, passed away at his residence on January 24. Charles was born in Bath County on January 12, 1934 to the late Chester Lee Hart and Lilly Farris Coyle. He was a farmer and also worked as a pipe liner for Texas Eastern for 32 years. Charles was an elder of the Slate Valley Christian Church and loved to minister to others. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and was an avid UK basketball fan. Charles loved to be involved in the community and one way he did this was by coaching baseball for many years. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were all precious to him and he was very proud. Charles was a hard worker that spent many days working on the farm and raising tobacco. He took pride in his work, his farm and his family. Charles was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend who will be missed by those he leaves behind. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Henderson Hart; two sons, Steven James "Buck" Hart and Tony Hart and his wife, Tena; four grandchildren, Toni Hart Gorrell, Tessa Lee Hart, Zebulon James Hart and Wyatt Boone Hart; two great grandchildren, Anthony Hart and Addison Hart. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Charles David Hart; two sisters, Dorothy Hart Conyers and Euleen Scott Hart.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 30 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 31 at 11:00 a.m. at the Slate Valley Christian Church with Pastor Gregg Whitt and Reverend Lowell Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Slate Valley Cemetery. 

Active pallbearers will be Clark Vice, Jamie Barber, Tom Bradley, Zeb Hart, Boone Hart and Tucker Staton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lonnie Vice, Jewett Blevins, J.R. Whitton, John Estill Everman, Gary Gudgell, Larry Barber, Willlie Barber, Barry Blvins and  Rick Conyers.
