Wilma Jackson, age 82, of Owingsville, passed away on June 30 at St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. She was born on October 1, 1941 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky to the late Clarence Collins and Emily Hatton Collins. Wilma enjoyed reading the Bath County newspaper and Peoples magazine to get the latest gossip. She was an excellent checker player and loved to talk politics. Drinking a cold Ale-8 and enjoying a Blue Monday while bird watching was considered a good time to her. Wilma was a kind lady with a loving heart. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
She is survived by four sons, James Kerns (Freda), Robert Jackson (Teresa), David Jackson, Nelson Jackson (Leslie); two daughters, Mabel Wheeler (Burns) and Catherine Mattingly (Wes); thirteen grandchildren, Carolyn Crump, Catie Allen, Charlyne Wheeler, Robert Rainey, Christopher Jackson, Daniel Jackson, Emily Staton, Morgan McCarty, Kevin Kerns, Christopher Kerns, Cathy Gose, Phillip Kerns and Joey Kerns; eleven great grandchildren; some special people of her life, Beulah Purvis, Sue Penick, Dustin (Brooke) Parks, Connie Skaggs, Bobby (Janette) Smith, Kelly (April) Henderson and many more.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Clay Jackson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 4 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 5 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Richardson Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Munday officiating. Burial will follow in the Jackson Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Nelson Jackson, Daniel Jackson, Robert Rainey, David Jackson, Robert Jackson, James Kerns.
Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Allen, Kelly Henderson and Randy Purvis.
