Virginia Hawkins Obituary

Virginia Ithel Fultz Hawkins, age 78 of Bethel, Kentucky, wife of Walter Ray Hawkins, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, November 20, 2020 in the presence of family. Virginia was born in Menifee County, Kentucky on August 25, 1942 to the late Willie and Frona Walton Fultz. 

Virginia is survived by her loving husband, Walter Ray Hawkins of 58 years. Her children: Willie (Elizabeth) Hawkins of Bowling Green; Sue (Daryl) Harmon and Dean (Tonia) Hawkins all of Hillsboro; Her grandchildren; Jacob (Juliana) Hawkins, James Hawkins, Amber Harmon, Shayne (Jade) Harmon and Jessica (Greg) Waldon. Also her great grandchildren; Dixie Price, Brentley Harmon and Ellie and Cole Walden. Also two special girls, Hannah and Cindy Fairbanks.

Virginia is also survived by her siblings; Sharlet (Wanda) Fultz, Henry (Olive) Fultz, Roy (Lena) Fultz and Brenda (Danny) Pollitt; her sisters in law: Shella Walker and Kaye Highley and her brother in law, Virgil Spurlock; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Besides her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her brothers, Daniel and Herndon Fultz and sister, Wanda Spurlock.

Virginia was a wonderful Christian lady and instilled the love for the Lord in her children. Virginia and Walter loved sharing the gospel through songs with their children. After her children were grown and moved away from home, they continued their ministry through their songs that touched many lives. Virginia worked hard on the farm right beside her husband and instilled great work ethics in all of her children. Virginia helped farm the Cannon Farm for 41 years and helped manage that farm for 30 years. She loved to help others and would give anything she had to someone in need. She will be greatly missed here on earth but is rejoicing in heaven. 

Due to COVID 19 restrictions, a private service will be held.

Reverend Randy Hawkins, Reverend Roy Stacy and Reverend Dean Hawkins will be officiating. Burial will be in the Longview Cemetery at Bethel, Kentucky.
