Veloney "Elaine" Prince, age 73 of Jeffersonville, passed away on June 22 at St. Joseph Hospital in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. She was born on May 21, 1951 to the late Asa Means and Mattie Anderson. Elaine loved to go camping, fishing and being outdoors. She enjoyed family dinners and spending time with her grandchildren. Family was so very important to her and she cherished every moment she could spend with them. Church was her peace and her passion. She was a devoted member of Grace Pentecostal Church and Faith Pentecostal Church. Elaine was a loving person who was always willing to help others. She will be missed by all that she leaves behind.
She is survived by her husband, James "Jim" Prince; two sons, Kelly Blankenship (Charity) and Scott Blankenship (Cressie); two daughters, Robin Turner (Dawayne) and Natasha Cassidy; three brothers, John Means Sr., Asa Means Jr., And Ronald Means; three sisters, Ruth Clouse, Mary Brooks and Sue Bickers; ten grandchildren, Kaleb (Kristin), Hunter (Kiara), Makiah, Austin, Dakota (Cassidy), Ciera, Seth Blankenship, Josiah and Isabella Turner and Brandon Graham; three great grandchildren, Kaden, Elizabeth and Brentley Blankenship.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Harry Carter, Carl Nelson, James Robert and Sydney Clay Means; four sisters, Ruby Means Shanks, Nancy Clara Means, Linda Jane Means and Bonnie McDonald.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 25 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel with Reverend Ronald Johns, Pastor Roger Kinslow and Brother Coe Cambell officiating.
Burial will follow on Wednesday, June 26 in the Mount Olive Cemetery in Westmoreland, TN at 11:00 a.m. central time. ( 12 p.m. eastern)
