It is with great sadness that the family of Tommy Banks Thompson, 80 years old, passed away 29 October 2022 at the University of Kentucky Hospital. Tommy was a lifelong resident of Owingsville and Salt Lick, Kentucky. He was predeceased by his parents, Bascom and Olive Thompson, beloved grandparents, aunts and uncles. Tommy is survived by his son, Steve, stepchildren, Donna and Roy, special cousins, Bobby (Mary), Gary (Carolyn), Patsy (Dave), Jimmie (Carolyn), and many friends.
“Never give up” was the mantra that served Tommy well during his life. He fought a good fight and always maintained a positive outlook. He was an avid UK fan, loved to play pool, and working sudoku puzzles. He was a cordial man, but he was also a very private person. In earlier years, Tommy was employed by the US Postal Service. He then became a part owner of the Outpost and worked as a bookkeeper for the Outpost Campground for over 30 years. It was at the Outpost that he enjoyed the company of many old and new friends.
Tommy was deeply loved and will be missed by his family, special cousins, and many friends. We will keep him in our hearts, in our thoughts and prayers, and in the memories of the wonderful times of laughter that we shared.
A private service will be held at a later date.
