Roger Sorrell, age 70, made heaven his home on October 22. He was born to the late Bascom and Iona Hatton Sorrell on April 27, 1948 in Nicolas County. He was retired from the phone company after 44 years of service. He was also a retired National Guard. He loved hunting, fishing, farming and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Hope Church of God, where he was saved. He was known for having a great personality, his love of telling jokes and being a Big Blue Fan. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Debbi Lewis Sorrell; Two sons, Kevin (Leigh) Sorrell and Greg (Dawn) Sorrell; One brother, Bascom Sorrell Jr. ; One sister, Barbara Zachary; Three grandchildren, Hannah Sorrell, Andrew Sorrell and Erik Burroughs; A special friend, Bobby Wiggington
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bascom and Iona Sorrell; One brother, Wayne Sorrell and a grandson, Jack Sorrell.
Visitation will be Thursday October 25 from 6-8 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral will be held Friday October 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home with burial following in the Owingsville Cemetery.
Reverend Sizemore and Reverend Johnny Baber will be officiating.
Richardson Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
