Rita Pearl (Griggs) Curtis

Rita Pearl Curtis, age 65 of Olympia, passed away on Saturday February 26. She was born on June 10, 1956 in Frenchburg, Kentucky to the late Lerain Griggs and Betty Lou Yarber. Rita was a caregiver for most of her life. She helped take care of many family members and friends in their time of need. Rita was a member of the Farmer's Christian Church and loved the Lord. She loved to be outdoors working in her garden or flowers, enjoyed going fishing and just living. She made the most of each and every day. Collecting cookbooks, crafting and traveling where some of her favorite things to do. She enjoyed going on trips with her family and always used her fun personality to make sure everyone had a great time. Rita was a wonderful mother, a loving wife, a loving grandmother and a kind soul. Her family will forever cherish the memories they have of her and her contagious smile that lit up the room. May they keep them close to their hearts and let her memory live on through them.

She is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Jerry Curtis; three daughters, Veronica Parker and her husband, Nathan, Kellie Rutherford and her husband, Blake and Casey Day and her husband, Cole ; two brothers, Terry Dean Griggs and Billy Joe Griggs (Regina); three sisters, Patty Hostrander, Debbie Curtis (Ed) and Susan Price (Nick); three grandchildren, Travis Lerain Stigall, Brock Parker and Isaak Parker; several special nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny Dale and Jerry Griggs; one sister, Tammy Sue Griggs; one brother in law, Tom Hostrander; two sisters in law, Connie Griggs and Teresa Griggs; one great nephew, Cooper Collins and other nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 1 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 2 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at the Richardson Funeral Home with Brother Billy Noble officiating. Burial will follow in the Griggs Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jerry Griggs, Isaiah Williams, Jason Curtis, Warren Curtis, Joe Curtis, Dustin Curtis, Trevor Duncan, Ricki Irvine and Chris Hamm.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brock Parker and Travis Stigall.
