Reverend Teddy Blankenship, 84, passed away after a sudden illness on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. He was born January 5, 1941 to the late William Henry and Rinda Blankenship. He was called to the Ministry at an early age and spent most of his life evangelizing across several states, founding and pioneering many churches along the way. God blessed him for his efforts with his devoted wife Elva and a large family he leaves behind to cherish his memory. He was a hard worker and possessed incredible talent and intelligence that most could only dream of. He could build anything he put his mind to and was a self-taught musician. His family says he was like a walking Bible. He could recite any scripture without looking, and often sat in his chair at home preaching the word to his grandchildren. He was a great loving father, grandfather and husband and a gentle soul; a full believer in Jesus Christ who has finally made it Home to Heaven.
In addition to his loving wife Elva, he is survived by three sons Joseph (Micki) Blankenship and Israel (Erin) Blankenship all of Mount Sterling, and Mark (Geneva) Blankenship of Owingsville; 1 daughter Marlana (T.J.) Ginter of Salt Lick; one brother David (Christeen) Blankenship; 1 sister Shelby (Darrell) Haskins; 11 grandchildren Rinda (Ethan) Barron, Jocelyn Rogers, Joshua Rogers, Landen Ginter, Tripp Ginter, Isaiah Blankenship, Tessa Blankenship, Gage Blankenship, Allison Blankenship, Maci Blankenship, and Mason Blankenship; 3 great-grandchildren Abigail Barron, Jaxon Barron and Gracie Barron.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters.
Friends may visit from 12-2 p.m. Monday at the Richardson Funeral Home. Funeral Services to follow at 2 p.m. Burial to take place in the Blankenship Family Cemetery.
