Reverend Franklin D. Rose Sr., age 84, made heaven his home on November 18. He was born on June 4, 1936 in Carman, Kentucky to the late Arnold Rose and Prudie Counts Rose. Franklin was a minister for over 50 years. He had spent the last 15 years at Pebble Church. He loved to read and study his bible. He also enjoyed spending time with family and going fishing. He did chaplain work and a jail ministry. He was a man known as a man of God, a minister of God's word, a soul winner. He prayed for others and never met a stranger. He wanted everyone to have the chance to go to heaven. He started several churches that are still in operation today. He loved God first. He loved his family, was a generous man and served his country with pride. He wanted very little in life but gave all he had. He never gave up on his work for God. His love and presence will be missed by his family but they find comfort in knowing that his eternal life has begun and he will be waiting for them.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dorothy Rose; two sons, Phillip Rose and Frank Rose (Sherry); one daughter, Cindy Stidom; one half brother, Steve Owens; one half sister, Sue Owens; two grandchildren, Christina Goddard (Daniel) and Frank David Rose; two great grandchildren, Nicholas Goddard and Elizabeth Goddard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Christina Rose; his daughter in law, Dorma Rose; two sisters, Lucille Owens and Edna Ohair and one granddaughter, Sarah Rose Lacy.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a service with a limited amount of guests will be able to attend. Reverend Jim Crouch will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery.
The Richardson Funeral Home is caring for all arrangements.
