Norma Dean Woolems Scribner of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away peacefully, Wednesday, August 14, 2019. She was a graduate of Princeton High School class of 1942.
She was a resident of Owingsville, Kentucky from 1956 until her husband Warner "Scrib" Scribner retired from Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation in 1984. At that time the couple relocated to Bartow, Florida. After Scrib's passing in 1998 Norma continued to live in Bartow until July 2015, when she moved to Port Charlotte, Florida to be near her daughter, Jean Ann Scribner Shay.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Warner; a son, Max Edward Scribner; a daughter, Anita Joy Scribner Horseman. She leaves behind a loving son and daughter; Tommy Joe (Teresa) Scribner, of Winchester, Kentucky and Jean Ann Scribner (Tom) Shay of Port Charlotte, Florida and a son in law, Bill Horseman. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Liz Horseman, Linda (Chris) Reed, Lindsay (Cody) Angel, Wes (Brandi) Willoughby, Whitney Scribner, T.R. "Buddy" (Heather) Shay III, Kevin (Heather) Shay, Stephen Shay, and Megan Shay (Andrew) Holbrook. Eleven great-grandchildren also survive.
Visitation will be Wednesday August 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. with burial following in the Owingsville Cemetery.
Reverend Chris Bailey will be officiating.
