Morgan Kelly Richards, age 89 of Means, passed away at Windsor Care Center in Mt. Sterling on Sunday. He was born on September 2, 1933 in Owingsville, Kentucky to the late John Adair Richards and Madge Atchinson Richards. He was a mason with Beaver Lodge 505. Morgan worked at Jockey International for over 30 years before retiring. He loved to be outdoors. Going fishing, hunting and looking for arrowheads were some of his favorite things. He enjoyed farming and riding his UTV. Morgan was a kind man with a fun personality. His family and friends will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Robinson Richards; two sons, Morgan Kelly Richards Jr. and Shawn Kelly Richards; three daughters, Jean Ann Sorrell and her husband, Terry; Pam Richards Estes; Melissa Smith and her husband, Darrell; one brother, Lawrence Richards; one sister, Susan Hicks; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jeff Richards and John Richards and one sister, Betty Ruth Rawlings.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 15 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 16 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Richardson Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Carson and Pastor Mike Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in the Ginter Cemetery in Frenchburg, Kentucky.
Active pallbearers will be Jennifer Clark, James Holt, David martin, Fred Chafins, Nathan Estes, Morgan Sorrell, Lester Carty and Jim Gay.
Honorary pallbearers will be Timmy Utterback, Lawrence Richards, Darrell Smith, Terry Sorrell, Jefferson Oldfield and James Richards.
