Mason Brooks Hatton Jr., age 70, of Mt. Sterling, passed away on August 19 at St. Joe Hospital in Lexington. He was born on March 20, 1951 in Owingsville, Kentucky to the late Mason Hatton Sr. and Nannie Elizabeth Carpenter. He was a minister of the Last Day Ministry in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Mason loved his family and grandchildren. He always wanted to be around his family whether it be having cookouts, playing cards or a good game of kickball. He supported his children and grandchildren in everything they did. Mason enjoyed drag racing and supported his son every chance he got. His joking personality and kind, loving heart will be forever missed by those that loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Sumadia Hatton; nine children, Kristine Helton (Eric), Linda McAteer (Henry), Brenda Metcalf, Terri Bussell (Bobby), Oddie Snowden (Eddie), Mason Brooks Hatton III (Jamie), Crystal McCarty (Eugene), Aiden Knox and Logan Lykins; two sister, Freda Price and Frances Pergrem; twenty grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Elvessa Hatton, one granddaughter, Brooklyn McKenzie Sue Pitts, one grandson, Jordan Lee Terry, one great granddaughter, Nova Lee Rain Brown and several family members.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 22 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 23 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Richardson Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Carpenter Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Josh Terry, Jason Little, Zach Endicott, Tyler Hatton, Seth Snowden and Mason Hatton IV.
