Mary Williams

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mary Wanda Sorrell Williams. Our mother passed peacefully in her home on the morning of November 24th. She was the wife of the late Sterling Williams and is survived by her four children, Nancy Naylor of Prescott, AZ, Dr. Steve Bruno (Sonia) of Atlanta, GA, Mike Williams of Manila, the Philippines, and devoted daughter Patricia Williams of Owingsville, as well as six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Mary Williams lived a long and fulfilling life, happy and content in her cherished home. She was a homemaker, a family scrabble champion, and a dear friend to everyone she met. She enjoyed the social interaction of, among other things, attending and holding garage sales and hosting innumerable holiday and family events.

Gentle and selfless, she noticed only the best in people, and always looked at the world with optimism and joy. She saw only “pennies from heaven” – and sang it very well.

Mary Williams lived a life full of grace and kindness, shared her love with everyone, and we all loved her in return. She will be tremendously missed and live in our hearts forever.

The family has been truly blessed to have had Mary’s loving caregivers, Rose Nations and Retha Roberts. Their faithful dedication allowed her to enjoy her final years in the comfort of her home.

A private memorial service for family will be held at home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
