Marvin Davis, 71, passed away after an extended illness Sunday morning. He was born December 11, 1953 to the late Leonard and Hattie Davis. He was one of Bath County's most beloved citizens, possessing a pure and giving heart. He loved being around his friends and helping out on the local farms or loafing at the Preston Store with Rube Blevins or the Wander Inn with his buddy Jerry Maze. He was often seen walking and accepted rides from many of his neighbors over the years. He liked to help out any way he could and often picked up trash along the highway to help his neighbors out. He had a beautiful singing voice and often blessed the Stulltown Community Church or Preston Church of God congregations by singing his favorite hymns. Angel Band was among his most favorite.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory two brothers Arnold Davis and Johnny Davis, and one sister Karen Egleston and a whole host of church family and community friends who are too numerous to name.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother Jim Davis.
A Memorial Service is planned for Friday at 3 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home. Friends are welcome to visit with the family from 1-3 p.m. Friday. Reverend Lowell Rice and Reverend Les Ingram will officiate the service. Burial will be at a later time in the Owingsville Cemetery.
