Marqueletta Green Obituary

Marqueletta "Kitty" Hartgrove Green, age 88, of Owingsville, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. She was born in Bath County on November 15, 1930 to the late Omar James "Si" Hartgrove and Lena McCarty Hartgrove. "Miss Kitty" as she was affectionately known by so many, was a homemaker and a loving caregiver for so many people throughout her life, visiting the sick and attending to the needs of others. She was a member of the Peeled Oak Christian Church where she was treasurer for many years. She was also a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary. She loved to enjoy a good country ham sandwich and a nice, cold Ale-8, shared with family and friends. She was known for her good sense of humor, good cooking and kind, loving heart. She always had a candy box for the kids to enjoy. She enjoyed collecting four leaf cloves and had a great collection. Family was important to her and she always made time for everyone that needed her. She had a way of loving, encouraging and nurturing those she cared for that would help you blossom into the person you were meant to be, regardless of where you had come from. She saw the best in everyone and made sure that you were able to take advantage of every opportunity that came your way. She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her. She was special in so many ways and will live on in the hearts of those that loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Metz of Owingsville; One nephew, Jim (Jo) Estill of Dover KY; Grandson, Zak (Lenzie) Metz of Owingsville; Great grandchildren, Addyson Blake Metz and Gage Tolliver; Granddaughter, Alicia Sexton of Midland; Great grandchildren, Sarah Beth Sexton and Alex Pelfrey; Granddaughters, Chasity Metz of Owingsville and Ashley Metz of Lexington; A special person to her, Ken Metz; Several nieces and nephews that she spent alot of time with and cared for throughout the years.
