Mamie Pendleton Obituary

Mamie Pendleton, age 71 of Owingsville, passed away at her residence on Saturday after fighting a long battle with cancer. Born in Rowan County on November 4, 1952 the daughter of the late John Riddle and Mary McCarty Riddle. Mamie was a beautician for many years. She loved to talk with people and never met a stranger. Being a homemaker and caring for her family meant everything to her. She loved to cook and to watch cooking shows to learn new recipes. Mamie also loved to draw. Anything outdoors was a favorite of hers from fishing to gardening and working in her flowers.  She loved her dog, Angel and spoiled her. Mamie loved her grandchildren so much. She was one they could talk to about anything and know that she would help them when needed. Strong, determined and loving are just some words that can be used to describe her. Mamie fought a long battle but always showed strength and still wanted to help others despite what she was dealing with. She will be deeply missed by those she leaves behind.

She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Roberts (Chris Crouch); Teresa Lewis (Bill Otis) and Lisa Pendleton; one brother, Nookie Riddle (Kathy); four grandchildren, Dylan Roberts, Noah Roberts, Freedom Lewis and Reef Lewis; two great grandchildren; a special nephew, Herbie Riddle; three special nieces, Mary K. Shoemaker, April Riddle Wilson and Crystal Riddle; a host of family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Pendleton and one brother, Morton Riddle.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Richardson Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until time of the service.
