Mable Jackson Pelfrey, age 88 of Owingsville passed away after a long illness on Saturday, June 3 at her residence in Blevins Valley surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 14, 1934 to the late Elza Ingram and Stella Blevins Ingram. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Henry "Doody" Jackson and Glenwood Pelfrey; seven brothers, Calvin, Edward, Russell, Virgil, Burley, Vernon Ingram and Clay Crockett; three sisters, Hazel Copher, Ann Jones and Edna Bell Purvis; one grandson, Michael Brandon Meadows.
Mable is survived by three children, Mike (Kelsie) Jackson; Garry (Kathy) Jackson of Mt. Sterling; one daughter, Katrina (Mike) Meadows of Owingsville; eight grandchildren, Matthew Meadows, Marybeth Jackson, Chris Jackson, Connor Jackson, Doug (Morgan) Jackson, Kaitlin (Nick) Barber, Amy (Mark) Roland and Adam (Paige) Odem; eight great grandchildren, one sister in law, Lucille Ingram of Owingsville; several nieces and nephews
Mable was retired from Donotech Inc. in Owingsville. She was a member of he Preston First Church of God and Owingsville First Church of God where she was a long time Sunday school teacher at both churches. She was a true Saint of God an will always be remembered by her contagious smile. She was a light to everyone she met and always put God first in everything she did. She loved her family and treasured all the monthly dinners with her nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly.
Mable will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will live on through her family and the many lives she has touched throughout the years.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 8 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Richardson Funeral Home with Reverend Lowell Rice, Brother Terry Frerichs and Brother Russell Ingram officiating. Burial will follow in the Kendall Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 7 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Gary Jackson, Matthew Meadows, Harold Copher, Wendell Ingram, Steve Ingram, Russell Ingram and Kenny Purvis.
Honorary pallbearers will be her Ingram nieces.
