Lois Jean Smith Simpkins, age 63 of Olympia, passed away to her eternal home on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington. Lois was born on August 22, 1957 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky to the late Arlen Willis Smith and Mary Catherine Becraft Smith.
Lois was a special lady who was loved by many. She was sassy, kind, hardworking and fun loving. She was employed at CTI Foods, where many loved her and she considered them family. She was a member of City of Refuge in Olympia. She loved listening to the servants of God, taking part in the ladies group, going to Tennessee on ladies trips. Lois loved her church family. She also loved to stop by Dairy Queen every day after work to get a large coke.
She is survived by one daughter, Crystal Dyer (Mike Munday); one son, Kevin (Emily) Simpkins, who were wed on September 26, 2020; one brother, Reed (Ruby) Smith; one brother in law, Wayne Simpkins; one uncle, Carroll "Curly" Becraft; many special cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of family, church family and friends; her fur babies, Daisy, Mable and Red.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years and the love of her life, Fred Simpkins, whom she married on December 20, 1974. Also several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions, private services will be held with Reverend Mike Munday officiating. Burial will follow in Stull Cemetery.
