Lodema McCarty

Lodema McCarty, age 74, passed away on March 4 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 22, 1948 in Morgan County, Kentucky to the late Edward Dennis and Opal Nester Dennis. 

Lodema was a kind, loving person who always had a beautiful smile on her face. She loved to travel, go fishing, cooking and making homemade pies and cakes. Her favorite thing to do was go shopping. She enjoyed filling her yard with multiple flowers and always had a kind heart for animals. Lodema loved her family and attended most reunions. She enjoyed music and dancing. Lodema loved life and enjoyed every day she could. She loved learning about Jehovah her God and telling others about his promises. Her family will miss her dearly and will cherish the memories they have of her.

She is survived by her husband, Eddie McCarty; one son, Dave McCarty (Lisa); three daughters, Teresa Price (Robin), Beverly Finnegan (Shawn), and Connie McCarty; four brothers, James Dennis (Barb), Carl Dennis (Carolyn), Leroy Dennis and Stanley Dennis; one sister, Deloris Berkeihiser (Keith); fourteen grandchildren, Lodema, Allen, Eddie, Amber, Alicia, Derek, Shawn, Brad, Megan, Andrea, Shania, Shyanne, Brad, and Sarina; several great grandchildren

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Denzel Dennis and Willy Dennis.

Visitation is Sunday, March 6 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 7 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Richardson Funeral Home with Robin Price officiating.  Burial will follow in the McCarty Cemetery. There will be visitation before the service beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Active Pallbearers will be Bradley Price, Eddie Lucas, Derek Wallace, Shawn Brewer, Allen Lucas and Bradley Holder.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Shawn Finnegan.
