Linkon Mathias Windel, 6 months old, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 20 after a hard fought battle. He was born on April 17, 2024 at the University of Kentucky hospital to Deborah McCarty and Brian Windel.
Linkon loved his crochet doggy, alligator and his pacifier. He loved to smile even on his worst days. Listening to mommy and daddy read him books, taking his bottle, being cuddled and watching tv were some of his favorite things. He loved his brother and enjoyed when he would visit. Linkon loved his family and his NICU family very much. He had the craziest little eyes and a goofy personality. He was such a happy boy. One thing he was really good at was proving everyone wrong. He fought until the very end and never gave up until God called him home. Linkon done alot of work in his 6 months of life. He changed his mom and dad's lives forever and touched the hearts of many that never got to meet him. Linkon was an angel here on earth and his family will miss him forever. They will hold him in their hearts until they can hold him again in heaven. Mommy and daddy love you so much, our crazy eyed, tater head boy.
Linkon is survived by his loving parents, Brian Windel and Deborah McCarty; one brother, Maverick Lewis; maternal grandparents, Gene McCarty (Ritha Ison) and Dana McCarty; paternal grandmother, Betty Windel; two aunts, Veronica Windel (Griffin) and Amy Jones (Charlie); six uncles, Damien Sappah, Kyle Hurst, Travis Hurst (Regina), Joseph McCarty (Sharee), Jordan McCarty and Eugene McCarty; a special friend, Vicky Tipton; the cousin crew; several great aunts, uncles and cousins; special nurses, Lindsay Becknell, Jill Dahl, Shelby Eliadis and the UK NICU team.
