Leslie Clemons Obituary

Leslie Gaye Clemons of Louisville, Kentucky, daughter of Robert and Charlene Clemons passed away on Saturday, November 12,2022 after her battle with breast cancer at St. Joe Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Ky. Leslie was 52 years old, born on November 18, 1969.

Leslie loved school from her elementary years to her college years only getting one B throughout her lifetime. She was a 1987 graduate of Bath County Highschool, then went on to Morehead State University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1991. Also, while at MSU she joined the Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority, Inc. Ladies of pink and green. After receiving her Bachelor's degree at MSU, she decided she wanted to become a lawyer, when she attended Howard University in Washington, D.C. graduating with her Juris Doctor degree in 1994.

Leslie began her law career in Maine after passing the Bar exam in that state. She eventually made her way back to Kentucky where she passed the Bar exam and began practicing law. She worked at the Bath County Attorney's office in Bath County. She then decided it was time to move on and she moved to Louisville, Kentucky where she worked for the Legal Aid Society until her passing. 

Leslie loved her family and friends always there for them and willing to offer advice and help. She had a love of Gospel music, singing, and playing the piano. She also had a love of Prince, and always would talk of the concert she attended in Lexington with family.

Leslie leaves to cherish her memory and survived by her loving parents (with whom she spent the last weeks of her life with) Robert and Charlene Clemons, of Sharpsburg, Ky. Her loving son Justis Jarman of Los Angelas, Ca. Her loving sister Trayce (Johnny) Botts, of Owingsville, Ky. Her loving brother Greg (Martina) Clemons of Louisville, Ky. Two nieces Bre'ana (Charles) Oliver of Paris, Ky. and LaToya (Matthew) Warner, of Lexington, Ky. Five nephews, Adam Clemons, of Sharpsburg, Blandon (Greta) Clemons, of Washington, Iowa, Mastor Botts, of Richmond, Ky. Jordan and Jadon Clemons of Louisville, Ky. Two great nieces Aubre Oliver and Catori Clemons, Two great nephews Camden Clemons and Kameron Warner. As well as a host of Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.

Leslie was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Willie and Leonard Boyd, paternal grandparents Albert and Emma Clemons, a niece KaShawn Renee Botts, and a great niece Carson Grace Clemons.

Visitation will from 10:00-12:00 Friday November 18th at the Greater First Baptist church.

Funeral services will be starting at 12:00 on November 18th held at the Greater First Baptist Church with Reverend Darrell Ashby officiating. Burial to follow in the Crown Hill cemetery
