Juanita “Joyce” Munday, age 88 of Sharpsburg, departed her earthly life for her heavenly home on Monday, February 23, 2026. She was born December 30, 1937 to the late Floyd and Callie Haney Robinson.
Joyce was a homemaker, seamstress and a jack of many trades, which she mastered. She was a former employee of Belks Simpson and the Corner Store in Sharpsburg. She sewed many pieces of clothes, prom dresses and even made a wedding dress for Nancy Oney. She loved the little community of Sharpsburg, where her family deemed her neighborhood watch queen. She was also the community babysitter.
Joyce was a member of the Grace Gospel in Sharpsburg and City of Refuge in Olympia. She loved her annual Tennessee trips that were all about what she wanted to do and eat. She took great pride in her family and many friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Callie Haney Robinson; the love of her life who she greatly missed, Chester Munday; her father and mother in law, Joe T. and Falmouth Munday; her one and only sister, Dorothy Matthews; one daughter in law, Kim Becraft Munday; several cousins and other family members.
She is survived by two sons, Mike (Crystal) Munday of Olympia and Steve Munday of Mt. Sterling; four grandchildren, Stephen (Robin) Munday, Sarah (Carson) Price of Michigan, Sami (Chris) Reffett and Callie (Thomas) Jackson; six great grandchildren, Owen and Katelyn of Olympia, Parker and Khloe of Michigan, Sadie and Bristol of Mt. Sterling; two very special nieces, Debbie Silk and Karen Crouch; two very special nephews, Mitch Crump and Rodney Matthews; three great nephews, Jeremy, Chris and Turner; a special great niece, Cassie; several neighbors, friends and extended family including church family and cousins.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 28 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Richardson Funeral Home with Reverend Chris Bailey and Brother Chris Manns officiating. Burial will follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 27 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Chris Crouch, Chris Reffett, Stephen Munday, Owen Munday, Rodney Matthews and Thomas Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mitch Crump, Jeremy Crouch, Buddy Wall and Keith Crouch.
