Joan Richards

Joan Richards, age 85 of Owingsville, passed away on November 16, 2022. She was born on August 20, 1937 in Bourbon County, Kentucky to the late Dennis Howard Welch and Violet Sellers Welch. She was a member of the Reynoldsville Christian Church. She loved her church, singing and praising God. Her family meant everything to her and she loved attending family reunions. She was a people person and never met a stranger anywhere she went. She worked at Bluegrass sewing, A.O. Smith and then Walmart where she worked for over 20 years. She enjoyed farming and canning vegetables. She will be missed by friends, family and all that knew her.

She is survived by two daughters; Jennifer Richards Clark and Judith Richards Jent (James); two sons, John Adair Richards lll (Carol) and James Atchison Richards; one sister, Linda Lewis; one brother Johnny Mcvey; fourteen grandchildren and thirty six great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Adair Richards Jr; one son, Jack Alan Richards; eight brothers, and three sisters.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21st from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 at the chapel of the Richardson Funeral Home.

Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 22nd with Pastor Doug Routt officiating. Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery.
