Jimmy Comer Purvis, 65 years of age, born November 19, 1957 to the late Stanley and Martha Purvis. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sandy Hurst; five children, Michelle (Marc) Miller, Jamie (Brian) Blevins, Daniel Hurst, Charles (Kortni) Hurst, Dustin (Anitta ) Hurst; three sisters, Donna (Mike) Donovan, Rosemary (Bob) Baker, Karen (Mark) Kirkpatrick; two brothers, Carl Purvis and Floyd Purvis; eight grandchildren, Cheyeanne, Caleb, Peyton, Deim, Mikey, Logan, and Aiden; one great grandchild, Nova; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.
Jimmy loved working crossword puzzles, fishing, and being outside before he became ill. He loved his dog named Rusty. He was his sidekick and best friend.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 15 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel with Reverend Gary Boyd and Reverend Lowell Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Hedrick's Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Dustin Hurst, Charles Hurst, Mike Donovan, David Oakley, Bob Baker and Mark Kirkpatrick.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Donovan, Brandon Word and Travis Hunt.
