Jeff "Buttermilk" Montjoy Obituary

Jeff "Buttermilk" Montjoy, age 65 of Olympia, made heaven his home on Tuesday November 15. He was born in Menifee County on September 26, 1957 to the late Johnny Clay Montjoy and Topa Hatton Montjoy.

Jeff was self employed and had his own drywall business for over 30 years. He later worked at the Bath County Transfer Station for several years. Jeff was always a hard worker and provided for his family.

Family was everything to him. He loved to spend time with everyone. His favorite thing to do was play pranks and pick at everyone. If Buttermilk was giving you a hard time then he liked you. He was a hard headed stubborn man with the biggest heart and always willing to help others. Jeff was strong and put up a good fight the past two years. He was so loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed. We find peace in knowing that he is walking the streets of gold waiting for us to get there.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Frances Montjoy: three daughters, Crystal Montjoy Day and her husband, Jesse; Leslie Montjoy; Salena Ferguson and her husband, Rocky: one son, John Purvis and his wife,  Tiffany: one brother, Carl Montjoy: three sisters, Wilma Montjoy, Joretta Parker, Ann Lykes and her husband, Danny: nineteen grandchildren: Brianna, Makenna and Jacob Day; Braeden Montjoy, Gracie and Avery Valenti; Branson, Malleigh, J.P., Deegan, Tallorie and Paydin Purvis; Harlie Carter, Kourtney and Robert Ferguson; Hayden and Keegan Meeks; Ruthie  McCarty and Maverick Lewis; a host of family and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, James Carl Meeks; three brothers, Jackie, Walter and Mike Montjoy; one sister, Edna Mae King; one grandson, Dakota Carter.

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 19 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.

Funeral service  will be held on Sunday, November 20 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Richardson Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Boyd, Pastor Keith Willoughby and Pastor Billy Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Stull Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be John Purvis, Jesse Day, Danny Lykes, Johnny Montjoy, Braeden Montjoy, Hayden Meeks, Rocky Ferguson and Anthony Bell.
