James "Jimmy" Penick, age 72, passed away on Monday December 16, 2019 after an extended illness. He was born on December 23, 1946 to the late William and Sarah Shrout Penick. Jimmy retired from A.O. Smith after 41 years of employment. He enjoyed yard sales, flea market and making bargains. He was also an avid fisherman . Jimmy was a very spiritual person and had a strong faith. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren. Spending time with his family was important to him. He will be greatly missed by all of them but they will carry his memory on in their hearts.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis Penick; One son, Timothy Penick and his wife, Bobbi; One daughter, Beverly McCarty and her husband, Shawn; Two brothers, Edward Penick and his wife, Sue; Bobby Penick and his wife, Cheryl; One sister, Virginia Sammons and her husband, J.R.; Two grandchildren, Ashlyn McCarty and Megan Howard; Several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Barbara Williams.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 19 from 6-8 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be Friday December 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Shrout Cemetery.
Reverend Lowell Rice will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be Clay Howard, Wes Howard, Larry Shrout, Clifford Landsaw, Larry Butcher, Ronnie Butcher, Mason Townsend and Caleb Howard.
