James Oscar Conyers, June 26, 1953 – July 22, 2025, age 72 passed away peacefully at his home. Born to John T. and Mary Faye Conyers, he was one of six children. Jim graduated from Bath County High School and Eastern Kentucky University. Upon graduation, he moved to Florida to begin his career as a grower in the greenhouse industry. He retired from Keepsake Plants after 39 years. His love of plants found him breeding mums and gingers. He cherished the miracle of growth - how tiny seeds, with time and care, became thriving plants. He took pride in his yard, or may we should say garden, as the grass was sparse. Jim enjoyed learning about family history and sharing his knowledge with others. While in Florida, Jim enjoyed Sanibel Island and Bowman Beach, finding joy in a peaceful walk along the shoreline, watching sea turtles find their way to the water, and finding the perfect shell and sand dollars.
Jim is survived by his sister, Donna Barrett, and 2 brothers, Paul (Karen) Conyers and Dale (Dean) Conyers. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents John T and Mary Faye Conyers, 1 brother, Tom Conyers, and 1 sister, Marjorie Manley. Jim is also preceded in death by his special friend, Bob Gardner.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
The tide recedes but leaves behind
Beautiful seashells on the sand
The flowers fade but the
Beauty Remains
The memories will last forever.
