James Donald Lankford, age 81 of Mount Sterling, went home to be with the Lord on November 5, 2022. James was born to the late Thelma and Andrew Lankford on November 16, 1940 in Harlan County, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Barbera and brother, Roger.
James was loved by so many. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. James loved to go to church. He loved his hats, KY Wildcats and most importantly, his wife of 64 years, Lucretia. His family was his world. He was a very caring and loyal man who made sure his family was always taken care of before his own needs and did anything for his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Lucretia; his children, Donnie (Linda) Lankford of Winchester, Kevin Lankford of Mount Sterling, Holly (Isaac) Barnett of Owingsville, David (Pam) Lankford of Harlan; his grandchildren, Kyra (Katie) Christensen of Indiana, Jamie Lankford of Winchester, Chantal (James) Reeder of Williamsburg, Davey Lankford; great grandchildren, Aiden, Jameson, and Gracie; his brothers and sisters, Kenny, Lonnie, Gary, Mike, Nola, Loretta, Sue, Billie, Theresa, and Sheila. He had several nieces and nephews. He was a fighter until the very end when God called him home.
And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice and your joy no man taketh from you. John 16:22
Memorial Services will be Saturday, November 12th at 4:00 p.m. at the Grace Pentecostal Ministries 10175 Main Street Jeffersonville KY 40337
