Jackie Curd, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, October 23 at St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling. He was born on December 25, 1944 in Mt. Sterling to the late Charles "Jack" Curd and Mary Frances Willoughby Curd. Jackie was a truck driver for most of his life. He was a hard worker and enjoyed traveling to different places. Going dancing and fishing were some things he loved to do. He also enjoyed going to bingo with his sisters. Family meant everything to him and he loved every chance he got to spend time with them. His grandchildren were so special to him. Going swimming with them was a favorite. Jackie had a fun loving personality and never met a stranger. He could start up a conversation with anyone. His family and friends will miss him dearly.
He is survived by one son, David Gordan Curd and his wife, Janice; one daughter, Jackie Lynn Jackson; three sisters, Katherine Jones, Betty Jackson, Charlotte Williams and her husband, Fred; three grandchildren, Amanda Patton, Britney Curd, Christian Curd; five great grandchildren, Joseph Patton, Alissa Warren, Noah Patton, Aaliyah Curd, Gabriella Curd; one great great grandson, Kolsen Patton; one sister in law, Mary Ann Curd; one brother in law, Cecil Farmer; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Ferguson Curd; one brother, Billy J. Curd and one sister, Linda Farmer.
Active pallbearers will be Joseph Tyler Patton, Noah Christian Patton, Christian Patrick Curd, Michael Wayne Sparks, William Dean Bashaw "Butch", William Jewell Jackson "John".
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 25 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Richardson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Willoughby Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the funeral home to help cover final expenses.
