Helen Frances Wilson Reynolds, 100 years old, passed away August 26, 2024 at Ridgeway Nursing & Rehabilitation in Owingsville, KY.
Born June 5, 1924 in Bourbon County, she was the daughter of the late Bishop and Effie Mae Sargeant Wilson. She was a faithful member of White Oak Christian Church for 78 years and took her children to church every Sunday, Sunday night and two weeks of bible school in the summer. Helen was active in her church women’s group, taught Sunday school and kept attendance for many years.
Helen participated in 4-H with her children and served on the 4-H council. She also enjoyed hosting her homemakers group, Harpers – White Oak Homemakers, in September of every year. Helen also served as an officer for the Bath County Homemakers and was a member of the Owingsville Women’s Club. She loved to play rook and write minutes for the Bath County Outlook. Every election year, you could find her working at one of the polls in the county. Helen was an avid reader and passed that trait on to her children. She always looked forward to the bookmobile bringing new reading material.
Helen was very devoted to her immediate and extended family. Every Sunday they gathered at her house for wonderful meals and fellowship. She loved her siblings and their families. They would enjoy camping at Cave Run each year for a Wilson family reunion. She enjoyed tubing behind a boat in her 70’s and sleeping in a tent in her mid 90’s. Helen also enjoyed traveling. She took a cruise one year and also flew to New Hampshire to see a cousin.
Helen was a loving mother, grandmother and friend whom will be missed dearly by those she leaves behind. She made a difference in many lives during her time here on earth.
