Mrs. Gracie Richmond Lucas, age 69, of Owingsville, passed away Saturday, at the Saint Joseph Hospital in Mount Sterling. She was born on September 18, 1951 in Bath County to the late Arthur Ott Richmond and Gustava Lawson Richmond. She retired from Jockey after working for over 30 years. Gracie was a member of the Northside Church of God, where she loved to hear the word and visit with others. Traveling, taking cruises and fishing were some of the things she loved to do. She was a sweet lady with a kind, giving heart. Gracie was always smiling and was happiest when she was caring for others. Spending time with her family was the most important to her. She was always there when they needed her, no matter what she may be dealing with. Her contagious smile and kind ways will be missed by all that love her. May they forever cherish the wonderful memories they have of her.
Gracie is survived by three sons, Donnie Lucas and his wife, Tina, Bill Lucas and his wife Brenda and Chris Lucas; two daughters, Bobbie Bunney and her husband, Gary and Trish Lucas; two brothers, Freddie Richmond and Ricky Richmond; eight sisters, Shirley Donathan, Mary Alice Bowles, Phyllis Jordan and her husband, James, Hester Vice and her husband, Jimmy, Opal Richmond, Tina Ginter and her husband, Dale, Kathy Evans and her husband, Jason, Coffine Evans and her husband, Kenny; thirteen grandchildren, Josh Lucas, Eric Lucas, Stacy Kier and her husband, Mike, Tyler Gray, Gary Bunney, Alexis Bunney, Morgan Finley, Paige Mounts and her husband, Matt, Lyndsay Wells, Jordan Wells, Allen Lucas and his wife, Alisha, Eddie Lucas and his wife, Samantha, Amber Netherly ; several great grandchildren and a host of family members.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lucas; one son, Randy Lucas; one brother, Junior Richmond; four sisters, Frances Shepherd, Louise Richmond, Debbie Richmond and Hattie Townsend.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 23 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 24 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Richardson Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Crouch and Reverend Kenny Crouch officiating. Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery.
