Ewell Blaine Young, age 80 of Owingsville, made heaven his home early Friday morning. He was born on March 11, 1943 in Bath County to the late Eugene "Blue" Young and Nadine Bailey Young.
Blaine attended Grace Gospel Church for many years, where he served as the song leader. He loved to sing and visit other churches. Blaine worked at IGA as a meat cutter for over 50 yrs. He was also known to cook a good country ham. His smile and kind personality always made everyone feel welcome. He had a servant's heart and would help anyone that needed it. When Blaine wasn't working, he enjoyed being a member of the Lions Club and traveling. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend. Blaine touched so many lives through his work in this community. He will be deeply missed by all.
He is survived by one son, Patrick Young and his wife, Kelly; one daughter, Becky Young Black and her husband, John; two brothers, Nathan Young and Nelson Young; two granddaughters, Kamryn Black and Kristin Harris (Jacob); one great grandson, Leo Harris; two special cousins, Lonnie Vice and Junior Bailey; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends at Key Independence.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Doggett Young and one brother, Terry Young.
Visitation will be Monday, April 24 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 25 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Richardson Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery.
