Eugene "Peanut" Swartz, age 75, passed away on August 15 at Fountain Circle in Winchester, Kentucky. He was born in Bath County on September 29, 1946 to the late Roosevelt Swartz Sr. and Grace Shultz Swartz. Peanut was a construction worker for Harper Construction for many years. He also was foreman at the Bath County Garage and retired from Swartz Mowing. Peanut enjoyed farming and loved tractors. He enjoyed gardening and canning. On Saturday nights, you could find him at the race track. He enjoyed the races so much. He was a simple man with a good heart and a love for his family and friends. Peanut will be missed dearly by those he leaves behind.
He is survived by one son, Eric Swartz and his wife, Bobbi of Olympia; one daughter, Dana Swartz of Salt Lick; one brother, Carroll Swartz; two grandsons, Turner and Gabe Swartz; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by ten siblings; Marvin Swartz, Roosevelt "Sonny" Swartz Jr., Donnie Swartz, Dan Swartz, Milton "Bud" Swartz, Richard Swartz, Sam Swartz, Bonnie Spencer, Emily Swartz and Margaret "Sissy" Armitage.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Mudlick Church of God in Olympia.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mudlick Church of God with Reverend Mark Caldwell and Reverend Lowell Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the Stull Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Mike Swartz, Neal Swartz, Juan Armitage, Rocky Swartz, Kyle Swartz and Mark Swartz.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony Maze, Rex Wolford and Mitchell Crooks.
