Edgar "Ed" Lykins passed away April 20 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born in Salyersville, Kentucky on July 19, 1942 to the late Orville Lykins and Effie Holbrook Lykins. He was of Christian faith. He was a heavy equipment operator and farmer. He was very fond of his horses and enjoyed living a simple life.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Linda Settles Lykins; his children, Teresa, Pam, Karen, Travis, Joey, Paula, Fontana, Tiffany and Levi; one brother, Darrell Lykins; two sisters, Juanita Patrick and Carol Hanson; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray, Harold, and Henry Clay Lykins; seven sisters, Genevee Rudd, Barbara Reed, Helen Resenstiel, Garnett, Katherine, Lula and Judy Faye Lykins.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 22, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Stulltown Church.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 23 at the Stulltown Church with burial following in the Lykins Cemetery. Reverend Les Ingram will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of St. Claire in Morehead, Kentucky.\
