Eddie Howard, age 75 of Jeffersonville, passed away on Friday at the University of Kentucky hospital. He was born on November 1, 1948 in McGuffey, Ohio to the late Dillard Howard and Lena Risner Howard.
Eddie was a man of Christian faith. He lived a simple, humble life where the most important thing to him was family. Being a father and a grandfather was what he loved more than anything. Spending time with his children and grandchildren always made him smile. He was a loving husband, father and papaw who will be missed dearly by those he leaves behind. May they forever cherish the memories and love they shared with him.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda Jolly Howard; one son, Robert Dean Howard and his wife, Tracey of Ohio; two daughters, Jessica Powell and her husband, Brandon; Angela White and her husband, Randy; four brothers, Ira Howard, Ernie Risner, Paul Howard and Samuel Howard; two sisters, Mary Louise Booth and Parrott Marie Sapp; seven grandchildren, Stephanie DeWitt, Brittany Bailey, Bracken Powell, Coledon Powell, Cheyenne White, Emily White, Tanner Guffey; five great grandchildren, Brayden DeWitt, Skyler DeWitt, Kirah Williams, Carter Compton, and Kain White.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Eddie Junior Howard; two daughters, Crystal Gail Howard and Kimberly Howard; six brothers, Goble Howard, B.J. Howard, Roscoe Howard, Dillard Howard Jr., Marvin Risner, Butch Risner ; one sister, Bernice Risner Short; one grandson, Michael Guffey and one great grandson, Jeremia DeWitt.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 27 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 1:00 in the chapel with Pastor Tommy Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Willoughby Martin Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the funeral home to help cover expenses.
