Mrs. Dorothy Rose, 81, of Salt Lick, widow of Reverend Franklin Rose Sr. joined her husband in heaven on May 12 at her residence. She was born in Grundy, Virginia on April 13, 1940 to the late Thomas and Juanita Stacy. Dorothy loved her role as a mother and a minister's wife. She was very active in the ministry and spent many hours talking with others on the phone and counseling them. She loved to help others and was always there when needed. Reading the bible, cooking and spending time with her family are things she loved to do. She also loved to travel to see family members and friends. Dorothy had a kind, giving heart and will be missed dearly. The ones left behind find peace and comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with loved ones that had gone on before her. They will cherish the memories they have of her and she will live on in their hearts forever.
She is survived by one daughter, Cindy Stiddom; two sons, Phillip Rose and Frank Rose Sr. (Sherry); five brothers, Frank, Larry, Clyde, David, and Junior Stacy; two sisters, Mary Anne Ward and Susie Stacy; two grandchildren, Christina Goddard (Daniel) and Frank David Rose; three great grandchildren, Nicholas, Elizabeth and Sara Goddard.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Christina Rose; one granddaughter, Sarah Rose; two brothers, Virgil Stacy and Ronnie Stacy; two sisters, Betty Jean Stacy and Oney Mae Collier and one daughter in law, Dorma Rose.
