Mrs. Dorothy Honaker Alsept, age 89 of Owingsville passed peacefully at her home Monday morning. She was the widow of the late Irvin Rogers and Ira Alsept.
Dorothy was born in Bath County to the late Clyde Honaker Sr., and Stella Smoot Honaker.
She was preceded in death by one sister; Mary Lou Hawkins, one son; Darwin “Tweety” Rogers.
Dorothy is survived by her children; Derek Scott Rogers (Cathy), Doug Rogers (Marcella) Dawson “Teeny” Gray (Billy) and Davey “Chuckie” Rogers (Lee Faudere.) one sister; Margaret Stewart and one brother, Clyde Honaker Jr. She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Scott Rogers, Jessica Reynolds, Richard Rogers, Adam Rogers (Tammy), Amanda Rogers (Travis),Amber Rogers (Jordan), Chrissy Wilkinson (Jeff) and Jill Jones(Walter).
She is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Dorothy was a faithful member of the Northside Church Of God, and enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She also loved to square dance, and was known to cook a great meal of goulash. Dorothy had previously worked as a clerk, and AO Smith, and Bluegrass.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 P.M. Monday April 19, 2021, in the chapel of the Richardson Funeral Home, with the Reverend Jim Crouch officiating. Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery at Bethel. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 A.M until time of service.
Serving as pallbearers are: Bill Story, Adam Rogers, Scott Rogers, Richard Rogers, Jimmy Clyde Hawkins, Burnsey Stewart, Neil Honaker and Jeff Wilkinson. Her great-grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
