Dolores Jane Vice, 92, of Owingsville passed away Thursday March 20th surrounded by her adoring family. She was born in Preston, KY on May 30, 1932, to the late Roscoe Cassidy and Bertha Mae Tapp Ford. She retired from Trojan Manufacturing in Mount Sterling and upon retirement went to work in childcare at the Owingsville First Church of God where she was also a member. She loved people and UK Basketball and in later years spent much of her time sitting on her front porch talking to her friends and neighbors and caring for her precious grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren whom she doted on. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son Tommy Eugene Reffitt, one grandson Robert “Robby” Joseph Caudill and one sister Mona Cassidy.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters Roseanna Walker and Teresa (Robert) Caudill all of Owingsville; one brother Mike (Renee) Cassidy of Preston; 1 sister Jodi Cassidy of Maysville; Six grandchildren Stuart (Christa) Caudill of Mount Sterling, Shannon (Tracie) Caudill of Owingsville, Stacey (Richard) Taylor of Cincinnati, Ohio, Leslie Reffitt of Lexington, Daniel (Kristi) Elswick of Mount Sterling, and Richard Elswick of Lexington; Twelve great-grandchildren Taylor (Sean) Preece of Mount Sterling, Caroline (Cole) Saunders of Mount Sterling, Kimberly Caudill and Charleigh Caudill of Owingsville, Corey Vice, Chloe Taylor, and Gabe Taylor all of Cincinnati, Ohio, Gracie Martin of Lexington, Keeley Martin and Paisley Caudill of Mount Sterling, and Brooklyn Hensley and Allison Caudill of Owingsville; Two great-great grandchildren, Eleanor Preece and Meredith Preece, and a special friend, Lawrence Richards.
Dolores was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was marked with love and compassion. Those who knew her will remember her for her infectious smile and overwhelming laughter. She had a rare gift of making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.
Friends may visit Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home in Owingsville. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Lowell Rice and Dr. Sean Bailey presiding. Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery.
