David York, age 91, of Owingsville, passed away May 27 after a long illness. He was born in Bath County on March 18, 1929 to the late Henry York and Edith Sorrell York. He was a construction worker. He enjoyed bluegrass music, playing the fiddle and the banjo. He loved to square dance and to go fishing. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
He is survived by one son, Randy (Rhonda) York; two daughters, Paula York and Danita Richardson; two brothers, Donnie York and Gary York; one sister, Rhonda Davis; one grandson, Matthew York; one great grandson, Riley York; two stepsons, Tony Hart and Steven Hart; several nieces, nephews, friends and family
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty York; his parents, Henry and Edith York; one son, Michael York; two brothers, Ray York and Wayne York; four sisters, Ruby Bristow, Birdie Moore, Naomi Copher and Joyce Denton; one stepson, David Hart
Private Services will be held at the Owingsville Cemetery on Saturday May 30.
Reverend Ron Weaver will be officiating.
