Clyde Brooks Roberts, age 91 of Olympia, passed away on June 21, 2022 at the VA Medical Center in Lexington. He was born in Bath County on April 18, 1931 to the late Charlie Scott Roberts and Mary Elizabeth Boaz Roberts. Clyde proudly served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War. After returning home, he worked at A.O. Smith and as a tobacco farmer. He enjoyed going fishing, hunting and camping. Gardening was his favorite thing and he always raised a big, beautiful one. Clyde was a simple, humble man with a kind, caring heart. He was always willing to help others and will be greatly missed by those he leaves behind.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary Marksberry and her husband, Les; Jody Cooper and her husband, David; one brother, Billy Scott Roberts and his wife, Retha; one sister, Annabelle Shultz and her husband, Mib; five grandchildren, Stacy McGervey and her husband, Conor; Barbara Wilkerson; Jessica Schafer; Kyle Roberts and Miki Marksberry; three great grandchildren, Finnegan, Liam and Reese Schafer; his beloved fur baby, Freckles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Wilson.
Active pallbearers will be Les Marksberry, Kyle Roberts, David Cooper, Zach Connate, Billy Roberts, Harlan Ginter and Keith Shultz.
Honorary pallbearer will be Russell Wilson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 24 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at the Richardson Funeral Home with burial following in the Owingsville Cemetery.
