Clifford Collins, age 71, of Owingsville, passed away on January 11 at the University of Kentucky Hospital. Born on May 16, 1950 in Pikeville, Kentucky, the son of Lazarus Collins and Phoboe Estep. Clifford was a retired coal miner and also served in the United States Army. During his retirement, he loved to go hunting, fishing and be outdoors. He loved to work in the garden and was a bee keeper. Clifford was a member of the First Apostolic Church of Morehead. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend that will be missed dearly by those he leaves behind.
Clifford is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Susie Dotson Collins; one son, Clifford Neal Collins and his wife, Mary; one daughter, Sharon Parish and her husband, Wade; one brother, Clinton Collins; two sisters, Pearl Azam and Ruby Stanley; six grandchildren, Stephanie Brooke Darnell, Summer BreAnn Darnell, Katelyn Jade Parish, Bradley Patton, McKnezie Fields and Katelyn Tester.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Teddy, Clayton, Lawerence and David Lee Collins; four sisters, Ruth Bowling, Emma Jean Collins, Irene Coleman and Inis Coleman; one brother in law, Buck Bowling.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 17 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 18 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at the Richardson Funeral Home with Brother Kenny Binion officiating. Burial will follow in the Owingsville Cemetery.
