Cleopas Roberson, age 85, of Owingsville, made heaven his home on December 6. He was born on October 10, 1937 in Bath County to the late Walter Roberson and Claudia Pearl McCarty. Cleopas loved to go to church and attend church singings. He would go to church with his wife every opportunity they had. Cleopas loved to work on cars and go fishing. Making people laugh was something he loved to do. He never met a stranger and loved to talk with others. Family was so important to him. He treasured every moment he got to spend with them. Cleopas was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all those that he leaves behind but may they find peace in knowing that he is waiting for them.
He is survived by his wife, Sanda White Roberson; three sons, Walter Lee Roberson and his wife, Rebecca, Cleopas "Hop" Roberson Jr. and his wife, Tammy, Billy Wayne Roberson and his wife, Deanna; thirteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Irvin and Sylvester Roberson; five sisters, Dolly Burton, Effie Craig, Mary Montgomery, Gladys Sparks and Gertrude Lynch.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 9 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Richardson Funeral Home with burial following in the Upper Salt Lick Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Brian Jones, Teddy Jones, Shelby Hardin, Alton Shepherd, P.J. Burgess and Jesse White.
