Charlotte Ann Rice, 77, passed away suddenly on Monday March 5th at Edgewood Estates in Frenchburg. She was born December 18, 1940 in Louisa to the late Hager and Barbara Thompson. She was a Homemaker and a member of the Cando Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband Ira "Pete" Rice; one son John Lee Rice of Louisa; one daughter Barbara (Gary) Ballard of Owingsville; one brother Kevin Thompson of Colorado; 3 sisters Karen Griffin of Colorado, Patti Thompson Brown of Virginia and Melanie Grothe of Colorado; 3 grandchildren Keri (John) Vice of Owingsville, Casey Darmon of Owingsville, and John Ryan Rice of Prestonsburg; 3 great-grandchildren Jaxon Vice, Karson Damron and Eli Damron; she also leaves behind many adopted grandchildren and special friends that came to know her as Mammaw, that she loved dearly.
Friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Old Virginia Cemetery.
